Call for Communication Strategists 2023

Contract/Freelance - Remote

What you’ll do as a Communication Strategist at OSP

In this role, you will support Open Strategy Partners’ client engagement leads with an ever-changing range of research, analysis, and strategy activities, collaboratively delivering greater value for our clients.

Connect & Learn

Community-Listening and -Engagement activities, building and maintaining an understanding of each of the tech communities our clients are active in, and staying up-to-date with the pulse of those communities and our client’s place and role within them.

Design, conduct, and analyze research on users, customers, and communities (e.g. polls, interviews, surveys, secondary research).

Conduct deep technical analysis of client technologies to create, develop, support, and maintain OSP Value Maps (our methodology for capturing product information and turning it into content and insights).

Communication strategy development. Connect and implement the results of the above activities in communication strategies. Recommend new opportunities and/or adapt current strategies. Work with OSP Client Engagement Leads adjusting content plans and briefs accordingly.

Strategy Workshops

Design workshops: set goals, outline the agenda, plan activities and timing, design visual experience and interaction (we’re currently in love with Miro). We’re looking for you to be able to take a brief from an OSP Client Engagement Lead and implement it, adding your own sparkle, vision, and experience—all while keeping it on-brand.

Facilitate and/or support online workshops: kick things off, set the tone, and clearly explain each step and activity. Most importantly: help keep the room engaged and keep things moving and on schedule. A charismatic presence to keep the energy and enthusiasm up is a huge advantage here.

Propose workshop opportunities for clients where they would benefit from refreshing or new insights.

Promote and grow OSP’s workshops and strategic services in various community channels and beyond.

Strategy Design and Documentation

Continuously improve our strategic foundation components, documentation, and their corresponding workshops and services in collaboration with our team.

Maintain and improve our documentation, guides, and templates across our strategic practices.

Help design and maintain a consistent visual experience for our workshops and strategic concepts, and help articulate this in our design guide.

Writing, Editing, Content Creation

Interview technical and subject-matter experts and conduct research to support technical and other marketing and communication assets.

Collaboratively research, draft, and edit blog posts, case studies, social media messaging, pitch emails, and landing pages that help readers understand the “why” as well as the “what” and the “how.”

Develop and pitch content ideas for our clients to better connect with their audiences.

Review, copy-edit, and provide editorial feedback for content created by other writers (clients and team members). In our close-knit team of communication professionals, we share best practices, and teach and learn from each other.

Help us improve our systematic approach to content production and contribute to our writing and editing best practices.

Facilitate online workshops with strength, compassion, and warmth, keeping the right balance of energy and momentum.

Technology

Ability to learn, understand, strategize, and communicate highly complex technical solutions to both technical and business audiences, as well as the ability to visually represent those concepts.

Time (Zones)

Overlap with the European business day. You’ll be running and participating in client workshops, so we’ll need you to be able to have at least three hours per day overlap with the European business day when needed. We all put in a few very early and very late hours now and then, but this is the exception rather than the rule at OSP.
